Ride to Aid Tour was successfully initiated in 11 days which was organized by Thimphu Badgers in collaboration with RENEW.

The members of Thimphu Badgers on their motorcycles covered 10 Dzongkhags (Central & Eastern parts) to raise awareness on COVID-19 and Domestic Violence mainly against women and children.

We distributed face masks to all the people along the way who weren’t using one and donated winter hats to the laborers along the highway, spreading awareness and pasting posters of violence against women and children and letting them know the necessary contacts when in need of help or advise.

The main event was held at Lhuentse at a remote village called “Nney”. We visited Nney Primary school where we spread awareness on the rights of women and children, shared experiences and goals with the students, finally making donations of drawing books, comic books and other stationary items.

“We travelled through the muddy, dusty, hot and cold altitude climates of the country and it was both fun and challenging.

In a country where a King does almost everything for his people; it is also a duty of the people to lend a helping hand to those in need of help”
