Yeshey Dawa
RENEW has created a lead protagonist young woman aged 25-30 years known by the name Yeshey Dawa. She represents an embodiment of liberation, compassion and action. Although a woman, she at no point would be considered as biased against men. She will always be depicted as someone who believes in fairness and equality. She is believed to be a legendary name of one of the former forms of the Goddess Tara, widely accepted as a metaphor for compassion and liberation. Yeshey Dawa appears in Kuensel, the national newspaper. Her stories are widely read with information focusing on statutory rights available to the women in Bhutan. Yeshey Dawa brings an informal awareness amongst the men and women of all ages, on the legal rights and remedies available to women.
